Sambalpur is a district in western Odisha. The district is surrounded by Deogarh District to the east, Bargarh and Jharsuguda districts to the west, Sundergarh District to the north, and Subarnapur and Angul districts in the south. The head quarter of the district is also named same 'Sambalpur'. The city is the connecting city between Chhattisgarh & Odisha and business hub of western Odisha. Debrigarh is situated on the banks of the Hirakud Reservoir and is about 35 kms from Sambalpur town. One can see bison, wild boar, peafowl, jungle fowl, sambar , spotted deer, barking deer, leopards on a good day.
